The Sales Tax Refund Service is available to customers of our Affiliated Retailers in Austin, Texas.
Alternatively, this service is included in our Tax-Free Store.
The requisites are the same for both except, for items bought in our Tax-Free Store, cacao.tax provides you with the following during your pick-up:
i) Your purchased Items; and
ii) Original Receipts.
*You still need to show your ID/Passport and travel documentation. See Below
How our Refund Service Works

1. Shop
Buy your favorite items in one of our affiliated stores.

2. Process your Refund
Bring your Documents to our UT Location.

3. Get your Taxes
You will get your Taxes before returning home.
1. Shop in Austin, Texas
Buy your Items and Products in your favorite shops throughout Austin, TX. Remember to keep your original Receipts and maintain your items New and Unused.
2. Process your Refund
Come to our UT Location to Process your Sales Tax Refund.
Remember to bring the following:
1. Documents:
i) non-US Passport / VISA;
ii) Original Receipts (no more than 30 days from date of purchase);
iii) Original I-94/ Entry Stamp / ESTA / Global Entry / I-95 (no copies are allowed);
iv) Plane tickets, reservations or travel plans.
2. Merchandise:
A cacao.tax representative must physically inspect the merchandise you bought in a New and Unused condition.
It usually take us 10 - 15 minutes to process each customer.
3. Get your Taxes
Cash: You will receive 50% the Sales Tax that you paid instantly.
When we reach scale, we aim to eventually refund 100% of the Sales Tax spent in Texas (True Duty Free).
